home firm profile return to housing		Gaffney House Historic renovation and addition to an existing 9,135 sf 1903 3-story mansion with a basement, for ElderHealth Northwest. The scope of work included a 615 sf addition for an elevator, interior improvements and infrastructure upgrades. The building now houses up to 16 elderly people with Alzheimers. The programming needs of the client - a kitchen, security, consumer access control, 16 bedrooms, nurse station - resulted in a project that preserved the historic exterior of the building, yet provided a highly functional interior for occupants and staff. The project also had to meet the approval of both city and state health requirements.
