The new facility has been designed to facilitate the integration of medical, mental health and alcohol and drug crisis services to ensure that individuals receive the most appropriate response, without unnecessarily burdening the emergency room with individuals who do not need costly emergency room services. The service model includes a mobile outreach component, and will work closely with the emergency room, outpatient treatment providers, local neighborhoods and law enforcement. The center, which includes a crisis triage unit and an evalulation and treatment unit, is intended to serve residents of Thurston and Mason Counties.
